I think we can all relate and say that at one point or another in our lives we have wondered what life has in store for us. I know I’ve wondered about what my career would look like (never pictured myself being a blogger, but here I am), would I get married and have kids (I sure hoped this was in my path), where would I live, who would I become?? A few months back I was introduced to natal (birth) charts and man did it become so fascinating to me to know that from the moment you are born your life already has a blueprint for things that may occur in your lifetime.
Natal charts are based on astrology and at the specific day, time and location of your birth the stars, planets, moon and sun are all interacting with one another, which on the chart is called an aspect, and how these interact with one another at the time of your birth plays into your life. These different aspects can have an impact on events you may deal with in your lifetime, strengths and weaknesses, characteristics, personalities, and behaviors you could potentially have. This really is not about jumping in a time travel and seeing how everything in your life will unfold, but more about experiencing growth from knowing what can positively and negatively impact you and how to help your soul flourish. When I first started looking into this it was eye opening what I learned about myself, even though you subconsciously know, and just how much it has helped me grow as a person. As I looked into my chart, I realized this could really help me parent my children as well because I could learn about their personalities and strengths they have, but also where they may struggle and need extra love and guidance. As far as my marriage, it helped me gain even more insight on the person my husband is, but then we also did a compatibility comparison and it showed us where we would be strong as a couple and where we are different and positive insights on how to deal with those things. Amazing right?! So now that you know what it can give you insight on lets look at some of the logistics of a natal chart.
The Planets
Each planet will symbolize something in your life from personality, desires, needs and more.
Here are the planets and the areas that they will give you insight on:
- The Sun: stamina, basic personality, ego and vitality (how you make your choices and why)
- The Moon: instincts, subconscious, mood, emotions and habits
- Jupiter: luck, growth, optimism, abundance, happiness
- Mars: aggression, passion, sex, desire, competition, courage and action
- Mercury: communication, instincts, language, intelligence and reason
- Neptune: intuition, dreams, creativity, delusions and imagination
- Pluto: death, rebirth, power, truth seeking, evolution and transformation
- Saturn: responsibility, discipline, obligation, restrictions/limitations and ambition
- Uranus: eccentricity, change, rebellion, inspiration, openness and reformation
- Venus: love, beauty, pleasure, sociability, relationships and attraction
The Houses
There are a total of 12 houses on your natal chart and each house represents a broad spectrum of your life. See below how those houses are represented on your natal chart.
Next, take a look at those twelve houses and what you can expect to find out about yourself in these houses if planets fall within these areas. I would like to note if you do not have anything in a house it is not negative or positive necessarily. Where the planets fall are essentially showing you in what areas you need to pay mind to and what the strengths and weaknesses are to those houses, once again with the purpose of being aware of these things to grow as a person.
- The 1st house is the house of self. You can expect this house to govern your appearance, identity, attitude, temperament, ego and the first impression you will make on others.
- The 2nd house is the house of value or possessions. This will represent personal assets, money, financial security or turmoil, spending habits and the way you value relationships.
- The 3rd house is all about communication. The way you will communicate with others (good and bad), thinking processes, self-expression, and mental attitude.
- The 4th house represents family and home. What kind of childhood you will have, inner emotions, property, ancestral roots and background.
- The 5th house is about your creativity and inner child. We all have a bit of a playful side right? Well that’s where this house comes into play. Representing not only playfulness but joy, spontaneity, pleasure and romance. You can also find love affairs and how you will relate to your own children if that is destined to be.
- The 6th house is that of service and health. What will your general well-being in life and the health habits you have and if there will be any health issues. It can also relate to your general daily routine, mindfulness and organization.
- The 7th house is about marriage and partnerships. Will you have strong romantic or business partnerships or will you struggle with this? Along with showing what kind of partnerships you need both romantically and in a business partner it can also govern your enemies.
- The 8th house is about death and rebirth. It can relate to birth, death, healing, surgeries or injuries. Also another way I like to look at this house is the house of transformation. Sometimes we have to repeat the same hard lesson over and over (death) to finally change (rebirth) how we react to it.
- The 9th house represents mental exploration and long distance travel. Travel can not only be in the physical sense but in the metaphorical sense of emotional and mental journeys.
- The 10th house focuses on your career and legacy. What your aspirations are, your sense of community, fame and material success. It can also look at how you view authority figures in your life, typically around your father figure but also law & government figures as well.
- The 11th house is the house of hopes & wishes. What do you hope and wish to achieve or experience in your life. Friendships are also represented in this house.
- The 12th house is the house of spirituality and self-undoing. This is going to house all your hidden secrets about yourself. No not the secrets you keep but the secrets in the sense of it is the parts of you that you will need to uncover or work through in your life and whether or not it will make or break you. Referring to your subconscious, dreams, nightmares, karma, self-growth, and self-undoing (weaknesses).

There are many websites that you can go to with a simple google search and type in your information and receive a drawing of your natal chart. If you are looking at all this and curious now about what the secrets are within your natal chart but you are not quite sure where to start, I recently started offering to interpret natal charts. You can go under my shop tab and click on spiritual wellness. I will need a few pieces of information to give you an accurate natal chart reading. Once I receive that information, I will email you your natal chart graph and a summarization of key aspects I pulled out about what your natal chart says about you. Typically it tends to be about 4 – 6 pages dependent on the person. I chose to offer this as a service because I know how many hours of research I spent learning all this information on how to interpret it, so it will save you some time if you would like to take advantage of this. Another reason I wanted to bring light to this was because of the knowledge it can give you to help you live your best life. Let this information help you grow and maybe even redirect your path if you have become lost. The universe has a plan for you but sometimes it takes unlocking the tools to do so to help you shine.
XOXO,
~Brooke
